Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has claimed that there can be no comparisons to Lionel Messi as there is nobody on the level of the Argentina captain.

The Spanish tactician has been made to downplay the comparisons between the new Manchester City forward. Erling Haaland and the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

Haaland has netted 19 times in just 12 appearances for the Citizens in what is described as one of the best starts for a striker but Guardiola believes the forward is nowhere near Messi’s quality, Barca Universal reports.

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi picked up a calf injury in Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-1 draw against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 5, PSG Talk reports.

The 35-year-old Argentine forward asked to be substituted after feeling a sharp pain in his calf although PSG manager Christophe Galtier has downplayed the seriousness of the injury.

Messi is now expected to miss PSG’s weekend Ligue 1 fixture against Stade de Reims with youngster Carlos Soler set to take the place of the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner.
