There was much excitement when the draw for the 2022 MTN 8 Wafa Wafa semifinals was conducted on SuperSport's Extra Time magazine review show on Monday evening.

2020 champions Orlando Pirates was drawn against the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the first semifinal. 2014 Kaizer Chiefs will take on Amazulu in the other semifinal

The Buccaneers will play the first leg in Orlando, before travelling to Tshwane. The Amakhosi will start off in Johannesburg, before Usuthu hosts them in Durban.

Amazulu defeated Cape Town City 2-1 in the first quarterfinal on Saturday afternoon in Cape Town. Later that day, Orlando Pirates saw off Royal AM 2-1 in Durban. Kaizer Chiefs needed a penalty shootout to get past Stellenbosch FC on Sunday afternoon after a 1-1 draw in Stellenbosch. Mamelodi Sundowns rounded off proceedings with a 2-0 win over SuperSport United in the evening.

EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu says Kaizer Chiefs must start charging host teams a percentage fee

Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president Floyd Shivambu has an opinion that should split the local football fraternity.

As reported by Sports Brief, Shivambu believes that teams hosting Kaizer Chiefs - the most supported club in the country - must start paying their glamorous visitors a percentage fee of revenue generated from ticket sales when they are in town. His opinion came after Stellenbosch FC tweeted that their MTN 8 quarterfinal against the Amakhosi at the Danie Craven Stadium was sold out.

Chiefs went on to win the match 4-3 on penalties after the tie ended 1-1 after extra time. Cape Town City chairman John Comitis went on record saying ticket prices were raised when Chiefs visits the Cape Town Stadium for a variety of reasons.

Specifically, they were priced as R40 for small games, R80 for Orlando Pirates, and R100 for Kaizer Chiefs.
