The noise started with Kaizer Chiefs letting Al Ahly train at its training complex in the south of Johannesburg at the request of coach Pitso Mosimane. It then turned into a furore before the match at Soccer City, when some Sundowns fans blockaded a route leading into the stadium.

Sundowns went on to win the match 1-0 via a Peter Shalulile. Mnqqithi did not miss the opportunity to twist the knife, saying that Chiefs being hospitable to the Egyptians made the victory all the more sweeter.

A Twitter user, Thulani Nombali (@ThulaniNombali) was triggered by Mngqithi's comments, saying:

"Manqoba is another small team coach hiding behind group work. In fact all 3 of them..."

This was a cheap shot at Sundowns' so-called three musketeers, including Mngqithi, Rhulani Mokwena and Steve Khompela. This sent Twitter into an uproar.

@nkerelang said:

"I couldn't agree more. I like them like that just like Pitso was labelled Makhalanjalo aka crybaby back in the day. Such small team coaches have a tendency to deliver and exceed expectations."

@NI_Mazibuko said:

"Manqoba must put it plain and say... As a collaboration of himself, Khompela and Rhulani, they have beaten a collaboration. That's what happened. Fact is non of them cam coach MS alone as a head coach. Not co-coach..."

@Ncibana said:

"That's very true. Motsepe's money is making them look good."

@MagubaneKhaya said:

"As long as they keep delivering chief, kwanele. Small team, big team or whatever siyaphambili gudluk wena."

Manqoba Mngqithi lashes out at Kaizer Chiefs, accuses the Amakhosi of being spiteful by helping Al Ahly

Mamelodi Sundowns' co-coach, Manqoba Mnqithi, has hit out at Kaizer Chiefs, accusing them of being spiteful.

As reported on Sports Brief, Mngqithi made the comments after the Brazilians completed the double over Al Ahly, beating them home and away.

Mngqithi said that the win was sweeter considering that Kaizer Chiefs helped Al Ahly train for the match.
