January signing Cody Gakpo, who was ironically supposed to join Manchester United, scored twice, with Darwin Nunez adding another inside the game's first hour.

The two players, later on, got their braces, with Salah getting joining in as well to become Liverpool's Premier League all-time top scorer.

Salah's skill on Martinez

Apart from the scoreline, the other highlight of the game was Salah leaving Martinez for dead to set up Gakpo's second goal and Liverpool's third goal.

Liverpool sprung a counterattack with Salah coming up one on one against Martinez. The Argentine has been near impermeable for United this season despite questions about his height.

Salah, however, turned him inside out before setting up Gakpo, who chipped the ball over David de Gea, who was quickly closing him down.

Ten Hag put Martinez out of misery by hooking him off in the 77th minute for Tyrell Malacia. The 25-year-old was signed from Ajax, following ten Hag at the start of the season, and blended in well alongside Raphael Varane.

The Liverpool defeat will provide an opportunity for United to reassess themselves as they pursue trophies in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Salah sets new record

Sports Brief has also reported that Mohamed Salah has become Liverpool's all-time top scorer in the English Premier League after scoring a brace in the massacre of Manchester United at Anfield.

The Egyptian forward scored twice to equal and break Robbie Fowler's 128 goals haul in the English League for the Reds.

Salah has now netted 129 goals in 203 Premier League games since joining the club in 2017 from Fiorentina.
