  • Liverpool seek to arrest their poor start to the Premier League as the Reds welcome Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday, August 27
  • The Reds have endured their worst start to the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp, picking just two points in three games
  • Saturday afternoon's game presents the ideal moment for Liverpool to get their first win of the season on the board - boasting of an impeccable home record against the Cherries

Liverpool will welcome Premier League new boys AFC Bournemouth at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp's charges chase their first win of the campaign.

The Reds are in desperate need of a win after a disjointed performance against Manchester United resulting in a 2-1 loss, playing catch up to early pacesetters Arsenal and title favourites Manchester City.

But Jurgen Klopp's men have been presented with the perfect opportunity to get their campaign up and running as they welcome the Cherries, who have lost their last two games conceding seven goals in the process.

And the German boss, who believed his side should not have lost against United, is looking for a quick reaction from his charges.

"We have to improve. So we can improve effort immediately. It was maybe 95 but we need 100%. It's all football things and we have the football solutions for it. Things we achieved were never easy, so no-one should expect it's easy now. Let's go for it together." Klopp said via Liverpool Echo.

Bournemouth, on the other side of the divide, failed to build on their impressive opening day victory over Aston Villa, suffering back-to-back defeats against champions Man City and early leaders Arsenal.

Scott Parker's team will have their work cut out knowing Liverpool will be visiting Anfield, where they have lost five of their last six visits to Liverpool's hallowed grounds.

But the Englishman is banking his hopes on the positive mood in his camp emanating from their qualification to the third round of the Carabao Cup.

“There’s always a positive mood,” he explained as quoted by AFCB.
“While we don’t want to lose football matches, the levels of where we are and the quality we’ve played against, certainly over the last two games, have been there for everyone to see.
“We’ve just come up a little bit short for one reason or another, but this is the challenge which we face.
“There is no bigger challenge than the top boys which we face in this division, and we’ve got one of them at the weekend; we’re looking forward to that.”

Liverpool

The injury crisis at Liverpool does not appear to be dying out anytime soon with a staggering 11 players still absent, including suspended forward Darwin Nunez.

However, Joel Matip, Curtis Jones, Thiago, Diogo Jota and Caoimhin Kelleher are nearing fitness but will not play a part in Saturday's fixture.

Bournemouth

The Cherries could be without five players for the trip to Anfield.

Ex-Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke could have a chance of facing his former side if he passes a late fitness test.

Players to watch

Mohamed Salah is one goal away from becoming Liverpool's outright second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League.

The Egyptian, who is on the cusp of yet another record, has scored twice as many goals against Bournemouth (eight) than any other player in Liverpool history.

Kieffer Moore will look to draw inspiration from Mitrovic, who was a thorn in the flesh of Liverpool's defence and take advantage of the current defensive crisis the Reds are experiencing.
