Liverpool had finished eighth in the first season with Klopp and had not qualified for the Champions League.
Even in the years before, this was not the club that always played at the top.

He chose to return to Dortmund after an underwhelming stint at Bayern Munich at a time when current Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel was in charge.

Dortmund had previously played a top season under Thomas Tuchel. Dortmund was on top. Klopp was still in the process of building something.

It is a decision that he regrets as his form dwindled that he had to leave Germany for PSV Eindhoven. There is a feeling that maybe things would have turned out better for him had he moved to England to work with his former boss.

Klopp went on to build one of the best Liverpool sides in history. He has since won every available trophy to him.

Gotze has now joined Eintracht Frankfurt as he seeks to play football at a very high level again.

Andros Townsend accuses Jurgen Klopp of always complaining

Previously, Sports Brief reported that Everton's winger Andros Townsend had torn into Jurgen Klopp, claiming that the Liverpool boss is always complaining to get his way.

Townsend gave the example of the Premier League allowing five substitutes from next season after enhanced calls from Klopp.

The German manager was on record a number of times calling on the Football Association to follow other top European leagues in allowing a maximum of five substitutes in England's top division.
