He would go on to lift the League Cup with Liverpool before securing a sensational £75m deal to Barcelona.
While speaking to Gary Neville on The Overlap, Gerrard was asked the infamous question, who was the better player in his prime and he did not hesitate with his answer.
“I get asked this question all the time -- all the time -- listen, both phenomenal, but I’d say Suarez just because he had everything and, I mean, how long have you got to describe him?” Gerrard said.
Gerrard went a step further by declaring Suarez as the best player he played alongside at Liverpool.
“You just felt no matter who you were playing, you just had a feeling that he was gonna win you the game, every game, didn’t matter who it was.”
