Senegalese forward Sadio Mané has surpassed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard's goal scoring record for the club in the UEFA Champions League.
The 29-year-old netted Liverpool's second in the 3-1 win over Benfica to move to 22 goals in the UEFA Champions League, beating Gerrard's 21 goal record.
Sadio Mané played a pivotal role on Tuesday night as the Anfield side took a huge step in the first leg of their quarter final against Benfica in Portugal.
Mané has now equaled Cristiano Ronaldo's record of most goals at the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League with 13 goals.
He is also just a goal from reaching Didier Drogba's 14 goals in the knockout stages of the tournament.
Mané was replaced in the 61st minute by Roberto Firminho as the Reds strolled to a 3-1 win in Portugal.
