Liverpool earned a 3-1 victory over Benfica in the first leg of their quarter-final encounter, but it wasn't always smooth sailing.
Fans have praised the team’s performance but also commented on their second-half display.
Liverpool were 2-0 at halftime, but a resurgent Benfica pulled a goal back in the second half. Luis Diaz then ensured that the Anfield club took a two-goal lead back home, as he found the back of the net.
While fans were in high spirits, they also questioned how the team managed to win so comfortably, despite the team not having the best showing during parts of the second half.

@Easie360:
"How Liverpool plays shabbily and still gets to win comfortably beats my imagination and needs to be studied #ucl #BENLIV"
@indieimmy:
"A good win for @LFC tonight against Benfica. First half we were excellent. The second half was sloppy! It’s still halftime. #BENLIV #ChampionsLeague"
@DrDaveWebber:
"It shouldn’t need saying but April is really all about results - not performances. The Reds have gone away from home in the #UCL and got a fantastic scoreline to take back to Anfield. Onwards to the Etihad."
@ameen7rs:
"A good win but that second half until the last 10 mins was poor, we could have easily scored more but a brilliant result to take home"

FootballLiverpool in sight of semis after putting three past Benfica
Liverpool took charge of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Benfica on Tuesday evening as Sadio Mane, Ibrahima Konate and Luis Diaz gave them a 3-1 lead after the first leg in Lisbon.
Ibrahima Konate nodded in his first Liverpool goal from a corner before Sadio Mane tapped home to put Liverpool in command at the Estadio da Luz, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Benfica made a game of it early in the second half when a Konate error allowed the lively Darwin Nunez to pull one back, but Luis Diaz, who was superb all night, added a late third to put Liverpool in sight of the semis.
