Marawa took out a tetchy quote from within the Amakhosi's media statement responding to the PSL's judgement, starting an interesting multi-faceted debate.

Football journalist Chad Kelly-Klate made an interesting observation in response to Marawa's tweet:

Marawa responded:

" ... for FIFA... And according to this Member Club, one was appointed only "last week." Might be a moot point given the Cape Umoya precedence based on their own resolution of 3 August 2020 where they said "COVID-19 does not & will not constitute exceptional reasons 4 postponement."

@thabzalzk countered:

"Probably [because] cases are not really the same. Chiefs talks about 52 members affected while other teams may have been less than 5. I believe if Chiefs takes this to court there are reasonable prospect that PSL resolution may be discarded."

@ndema_lucas applied the letter of the law:

@eaglelion209 was suspicious:

"Covid 19 is there in the real world and we must protect ourselves and others. Human life comes first. However, most teams worldwide are now using it as an excuse to either rest players or plan properly."

@Ncibana criticised the PSL for tardiness:

"A response 20 days later on declining the request to postpone the games is just plain poor by the PSL"

@MotsoAphi defended his team:

"Bra Rob, it's like COVID19 is just a headache that you deal with by consuming Grandpa..."

Kaizer Chiefs upset, set to appeal PSL's decision to deny postponement appeal

Kaizer Chiefs are set to appeal the Premier Soccer League's decision to deny their match postponement request.

Sports Brief reported that the Naturena-based side was struck by a Covid-19 outbreak at the beginning of the month, which made dozens of players and non-playing personnel unavailable.

The club claimed that it would not have benefited from a postponement, among other things contained in a terse media statement.
