  • Hossam El Badry was previously linked with Kaizer Chiefs in 2018 but chose to join Pyramids FC in Egypt instead
  • Stuart Baxter remains in charge of Kaizer Chiefs but could be replaced if results don't improve soon

A new name has been linked with the coaching role at Kaizer Chiefs, despite Stuart Baxter remaining firmly in charge of the Amakhosi.

Egypt's Hossam El Badry has expressed his interest in coaching the Amakhosi if a vacancy were to arise at the Naturena.

El Badry has a host of coaching qualifications, having previously led Al Ahly to CAF Champions League glory and enjoying a stint as the Egyptian national team coach.

As reported by Soccer Laduma, El Badry was also previously linked with the Kaizer Chiefs job. In 2018, El Badry was one of the candidates mentioned as a possible replacement for Steve Komphela.

Pyramids FC in Egypt then made El Badry an offer he couldn’t refuse and he signed a contract with the side. Kaizer Chiefs then hired Giovanni Solinas who was fired after six months in charge.

El Badry is currently not managing any team after he was sacked by the Egyptian FA and replaced with Carlos Queiroz, KingFUT.com reported.

The Rwandan nation team is also interested in El Badry’s signature after they fired their previous manager when the team failed to qualify for the AFCON tournament.

El Badry though has expressed interest in coaching in the Premier Soccer League, specifically with Kaizer Chiefs. The Egyptian manager is said to be fond of the Amakhosi, considering them to be on the same level as Al Ahly.

Arthur Zwane is a wanted man, Kaizer Chiefs' Assistant Manager has attracted interest from AmaZulu and Al Ahly

With Arthur Zwane still on the sidelines at Kaizer Chiefs, the future is uncertain for the Amakosi’s Assistant Manager. Fans have often commented that Zwane looks out of place on the technical team bench and that coach Stuart Baxter doesn’t even ask for his opinions.

While fans also called for Baxter to be fired and for Zwane to replace him, Zwane may find that his future lies away from the Naturena, if recent reports are to be believed, Sports Brief earlier reported.

The Citizen has reported that Pitso Mosimane is considering hiring Zwane as his assistant coach at Al Ahly. Pitso does not have an assistant since Calvin Johnson left the Egyptian giants. Pitso is currently waiting for permission from Al Ahly management to appoint a new assistant.
