Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has sent a message of support to defending champions France, ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The former Manchester United player and 2018 World Cup winner will miss the tournament due to an injury that has kept him out since the start of the season.

France coach Didier Deschamps named his final team for the World Cup on Wednesday, as Les Bleus head to Qatar for the defence of their title.

Pogba, who is disappointed to miss the tournament, backed the players selected to go and make the country proud in Qatar.

"God had another plan for me. I will be supporting my team, my nation, my country from far away, but my heart is with them! Best of luck to all the selected players," he wrote on Twitter.

France beat Croatia to win the World Cup four years ago in Russia.

However, the two-time world champions will miss Pogba and N'golo Kante for the global showpiece, which begins on November 20.

France have been drawn in Group D alongside Australia, Tunisia and Denmark.

Didier Deschamps names 25-man squad

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that France head coach Didier Deschamps has unveiled his squad of 25 men heading to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.

While the team features several prominent names, a number of familiar faces also failed to make the cut for Les Bleus.

Hugo Lloris, Kylian Mbappe, William Saliba, Karim Benzema, Olivier Giroud and Christopher Nkunku are some of the top names in the squad.

Asamoah backs Pogba for Juventus

Kwadwo Asamoah believes Paul Pogba is the missing piece at Juventus, following their early season struggles, Sports Brief has reported.

The Italian giants have been poor in the ongoing campaign, having been booted out of the UEFA Champions League after five games at the group stage.

Pogba, who rejoined the club in the summer transfer window, is yet to make an appearance due to injury.
