- Max Allegri’s side began the campaign on a not too impressive note, but they have surely secured a Champions League qualification
Italian side Juventus will end this campaign without a trophy after the Old Lady fell to a 4-2 defeat in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night.
It was a blockbuster final which produced classics from both sides, but Juve succumbed in extra time after Inter forced the tie to extend following a controversial leveller in the closing minutes of regulation time.
Juve had conceded earlier and they overturned the scoreline with two goals in the opening minutes of the second half courtesy Alvaro Morata and Dusan Vlahovic after Nicolo Barella had given Inter the lead.
Old Juve reports that Hakan Calhanoglu scored from the spot and then a brace by Ivan Perisic allowed the cup to go to Milan, meaning Juve finish the season with nothing.
It is the first time in over a decade that the Old Lady will go trophyless in a season and the last time was under Gigi Delneri in the 2010/2011 season when they finished the seventh in the Serie A.
Juventus began this season on a poor note as they were left struggling in the Serie A, but an admirable recovery saw them comfortably claim a Champions League spot after Dusan Vlahovic was acquired in January.
Thomas Partey on the radar of Juve
Meanwhile, Juventus have expressed interest in signing Thomas Partey from Arsenal. Chances of the Italian giants getting the star midfielder are close to none, and they are set to add Arthur Melo to sweeten the deal.

The Frenchman is looking to join either Real Madrid or Juventus as details about his future remain unclear.
The 29-year-old became a transfer target for the Citizens as his contract with the Red Devils will lapse at the end of the ongoing season.
