  • Juventus want to sign Thomas Partey from Arsenal and are willing to make Arthur Melo part of the deal that would see the midfielders exchange clubs
  • Arthur Melo’s form is a big concern for Massimiliano Allegri, who is looking to strengthen his side as they seek to compete for the Serie A next season
  • Partey is an integral player for Arsenal, but reports have emerged that they do not see eye to eye with head coach Mikel Arteta

Juventus have expressed interest in signing Thomas Partey from Arsenal. Chances of the Italian giants getting the star midfielder are close to none, and they are set to add Arthur Melo to sweeten the deal.

Partey has been a key member of Mikel Arteta's squad since joining from Atletico Madrid. His only undoing has been his constant injuries. However, when he is fit, he has formed a solid midfield partnership with Granit Xhaka.

Arthur Melo, meanwhile, has played fewer minutes than anticipated for Juventus. He recently started in Juventus' 2-1 loss to Genoa. The Brazilian was signed from Barcelona in 2020 in a deal that saw veteran Miralem Pjanic go the other way.

Juvefc.com report that Massimiliano Allegri will be keen to move on Arthur if his performances don’t improve. Allegri wants to rebuild a team that can compete for the Scudetto next season. The Old Lady have fallen off the pace this season. They are currently in fourth with 69 points.

Partey and Arteta are at loggerheads

Arsenal Mania also reports that Partey and Arteta don’t see eye to eye and Juventus are banking on that to lure the Ghanaian away. The Gunners are currently in the market for Youri Tielemans. Should a deal for the Leicester City’s midfielder go through, the North London side might be tempted to listen to offers for Partey.

Allegri has struggled to replace Rodrigo Bentacur, who left for Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer period. Partey is one player who can slot into the Bentacur role and play as a holding midfielder.

He has built his reputation over the years as a box-to-box midfielder who either breaks down opposition play or initiates his team’s attack. The 28-year-old is also known for his outside of the box ferocious shots.

Pepe could be on the move too

Apart from Partey, Nicolas Pepe will also be subject to transfer speculation this summer.

Sports Brief reported that the Ivorian attacker was on the receiving end of a dress down from Arsenal’s technical bench over the weekend.

Pepe’s decision-making was at fault and Arsenal would be willing to listen to offers for their record signing.
