Legendary Ghanaian player, Polo, says Milovan Black Stars could win 2021 AFCON

• Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, famously known as Mohammed Polo in the footballing world has said Milovan Rajevac's Black Stars could go all the way in Cameroon at the AFCON tournament
• The former Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics forward, won the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the Black Stars in the year 1978 when Ghana hosted the tournament
• Mohammed Polo, who coached Hearts of Oak some years back, was a phenomenal player during his playing days with his wriggling dribbles earning him the "dribbling magician" nickname

Retired Ghana Black Star forward, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, has stated that he expects the Black Stars to make an impact in the upcoming AFCON in Cameroon.

Black Stars squad put out by Serbian manager, Milovsan Rajevac seems to have instilled a lot of confidence in the Ghanaian legend sobriquet Mohammed Polo.

Ghana have been crowned champions four times, with the Hearts of Oak legend part of the squad that won the 1978 edition hosted by Ghana.

“I believe they can make an impact in Cameroon. I once said it will be difficult to end the trophy drought but looking at how things are going under Milovan Rajevac, I have reserved my comment,” he told Koforidua-based Bryt FM.

Four years later, they won the tournament in what has been the team's last success to date in Libya.

The Black Stars led by head coach Milovan Rajevac, are looking to end their over 30 years African Cup of Nations trophy drought in Cameroon.

The team commenced preparations for the competition in Doha, Qatar this past weekend ahead of the tournament which kicks start in January 9 2022 to February 6.

Ghana will play defending champions Algeria in a friendly before officially starting their campaign with a face to face meeting with Morocco, then Gabon and Comoros in the group stage.

Sportsbrief.com has learned that, Ghanaian teenager, Abdul Issahaku Fatawu and two others are among players Liverpool plan on watching at the upcoming AFCON.

According to sources, Liverpool in addition to Issahaku Fatawu, will also be keeping tabs on 20-year-old Guinean, Aguibou Camara of Olympiakos and 17-year-old Ivorian striker, Karim Konaté with ASEC Mimosas.
