Jeffrey Schlupp responded to his AFCON snub with a goal as Crystal Palace defeated Norwich City in the English Premier League on Tuesday, December 28.

The Ghana international, who was handed a starting role by manager Patrick Vieira netted a beautiful goal as the Eagles won 3-0 at the Selhurst Park.

In photos posted on Twitter, sighted by SportsBrief.com, the German-born Ghanaian is seen celebrating his goal.

Crystal Palace got off to a good start after forward Osdonne Edouard scored an eight minute penalty, before Jean-Phillipe Mateta doubled the lead thirty minutes later.

Jeffrey Schlupp sealed victory in the 42nd minute as Crystal Palace recovered the defeat to Spurs over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Schlupp who missed out on Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac's provisional squad for AFCON 2021, explained how important the win was for the club.

“It was an important result for us today. We obviously needed to bounce back well from the game against Tottenham, which we lost. We managed to do that very well today," he said after the game.

“It shows of course, especially in this period where you have a lot of games coming thick and fast, that we have good squad depth. We’ve shown that again – we rotated a few players and players came in who haven’t played as much as others and we’ve got two massive players missing for us today but we still managed to put on a good performance to win 3-0."

Jeffrey Schlupp among big names to miss AFCON 2021

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, head coach of the senior national team of Ghana, Milovan Rajevac has left out some big names in his squad for next year's Africa Cup of Nations after releasing his provisional team.

The Serbian tactician announced a 30-man squad for pre-AFCON camping in Qatar but left out number one goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

In the list presented to the media, top players like Caleb Ekuban, Eammnuel Gyasi, Afriyie Acquah, Joseph Aidoo and Ishmael Ganiyu were all not included.
