Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac will name his provisional squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 in Accra.
The Serbian trainer is expected to name a larger squad before it is pruned to a 28-man team for the Nations Cup in Cameroon.
The Ghana Football Association confirmed the coach will be meeting the press on Tuesday at their secretariat, where an announcement will be made as to which players will represent the country at AFCON 2021.
Milovan Rajevac is expected to leave Ghana for Qatar immediately after naming his team, where a pre-AFCON camping starts this week.
The Black Stars will spend three weeks in Qatar, and they will be engaged in three international friendlies before leaving for Cameroon on January 7, 2022.
Ghana have been drawn in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations, alongside Morocco, Gabon and the Comoros Island.
The Black Stars open their campaign on January 10, 2022 against North Africans Morocco, before facing Gabon and Comoros Island in subsequent games.
The West African powerhouse are chasing a fifth elusive AFCON trophy, having last won the tournament in 1982. Ghana has come close three times since, losing the 1992, 2010 and 2015 finals.
