"It was Job that made us believe that statement, that God gives and God has taken. Job said that in anguish; it was Job's words. Now we've made it a doctrine. It's false: God doesn't give and God does not take," he added.

Michel claimed the belief that God had given and then taken Atsu was also a lie.

"Atsu was not supposed to die. He died prematurely. No, God did not take Atsu."

Atsu was found dead 12 days after being trapped under rubble following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

His body has since been transported to Ghana for his burial.
