Christian Atsu's former clubs in the English Premier League have sent goodwill messages to the player currently missing following an earthquake in Turkey.

A 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria has left many dead with several people trapped under rubbles.

The Ghana international is reportedly yet to be found hours after some players and technical members of Hatayaspor were covered in wreckage.

Four persons from Hatayaspor have been rescued while a search team is looking for the Ghanaian footballer and Sporting Director Taner Savut.

Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth, two of the clubs Atsu played for England have reacted to the news on social media.

"Praying for some positive news, Christian Atsu," wrote Newcastle United.

Atsu spent four years with the Magpies, helping them earn promotion to the English Premier League in 2017. He first join the club on loan from Chelsea.

"Everyone at Bournemouth is hoping for positive news regarding Christian Atsu. Our thoughts are with all affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria," wrote Bournemouth.

Atsu also had a spell in Spain with Malaga, where he was a key figure during his time with the club.

"Turkish media reports that Christian Atsu, a former Malaguista player, is trapped under rubble after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. Our thoughts are with him and his family at this time of terrible anguish," wrote Malaga.

Atsu scored the match-winner for Hatayaspor in their game against Kasimpasa on Sunday.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Christian Atsu has been trapped under rubbles following an earthquake in Turkey.

The Hatayaspor winger is reportedly yet to be found after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake left many missing while others have been trapped under rubbles.

According to reports, the player and director of Hatayaspor Taner Savut, are yet to be found with a search team deployed in the city of Kahramanmaraş.
