Ghana were awoken from their slumber as they began to dominate possession but failed to create opportunities upfront.

Winger Jonah Attuquaye came close with a header from a Dennis Korsah cross.

The Nigeriens came close just before half time but goalkeeper Ibrahim produced a solid save to keep the score at 1-0.

Just like they started the first half, Niger immediately doubled their lead after the break with a stunning effort from Soumana Hainikoye.

Coach of the Black Galaxies Annor Walker made a couple of substitutions, bringing on Gladson Awako and Augustine Boakye for Kofi Kordzi and Sylvester Simba.

Kwame Out, who came on for Attuquaye had the ball into the net but the referee spotted a foul, turning down the goal.

Ghana huffed and puffed, but it was the Nigeriens who created the most chances and should have added a third.

Niger will face host Algeria in the semi-final of the CHAN tournament.
