The in-form forward was dropped by Ghana coach Otto Addo despite his blistering start to the season in Belgium.
Painstil, who has netted three goals and provided an assist in seven games, failed to make the team with the coach preferring Fatawu Issahaku and Benjamin Tetteh.

Most of the mild fielders are injured. And he called some people who are out of form currently leaving the likes of Shullup, Salis, Emmanuel Gyasi, Ashimeru and Joseph Painstil behind. So tell me bro. Can this squad match against Brazil?
@Yrich133 posted:
Are you trying to tell us Isshaku and Barnieh are better than Joseph Painstil
@_donmoses1 tweeted:
Some people are playing politics with our national team. Salis Abdul Samed and Joseph Painstil have been playing 90 minutes week in week out scoring goals all but no call up, yet they've called players who're eating bench. Some even in team B. We won't agree oo

Surprised not to see Joseph Painstil in the squad. What at all does Otto Addo see in Baba Rahman. Imoro Ibrahim is far better and Danlad Ibrahim is far better than Manaf Nurudeen
@ruud_kagawa tweeted:
We have watched Fatau Isahaku playing and we can all testify that is overhyped.. why is he in the squad? I'm surprised not to see Jeffrey schlupp, Joseph painstil and majeed Ashimiru.
