Antoine Semenyo has been dropped from the Ghana squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic.

The Bristol City forward missed out on the 25-man squad released by Ghana coach Otto Addo for the game against the Wild Beasts on Sunday.

The 22-year-old will also not take part in the Four-Nation Tournament scheduled for Japan later this month.

According to reports, Semenyo has traveled back to England to sort out his future with his club Bristol City ahead of the summer Transfer window.

The red-hot English-born Ghanaian forward was in scintillating form for Bristol City in the recently ended English Championship.

He was involved in 20 goals for Championship club in the English second-tier, scoring on eight occasions and providing 12 assists.

Semenyo is on the radar of several European clubs, including Scottish champions Celtic and English Premier League club West Ham United.

He has attracted interest from David Moyes' side, who see him a perfect replacement for Jarrod Bowen who is close to joining Liverpool in the Summer.

Ghana embarked on the trip to Angola for the Central African Republic clash with a contingent of 25 players which features three goalkeepers, seven defenders six midfielders and nine attackers.

Antoine Semenyo makes Black Stars debut

Sports Brief earlier reported that Antoine Semenyo made his debut in Ghana's 3-0 win over Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old was introduced in the 75th minute for AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan who got his debut goal for the Black Stars.

The London-born attacker had little time to show his full potential but was very mobile on the pitch within the few minutes he played.
