Ghana is one of the countries in Africa that loves music so much it has produced many music talents who have entertained the continent very well with their amazing voices and fast-flow raps.

From Asamoah Gyan to Kevin-Prince Boateng, trying to launch a rap career has been something that many footballers attempted to do.

Asamoah Gyan

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan is not just successful at football, but also in entrepreneurship and entertainment.

The former Black Stars captain owns numerous businesses and is even far advanced to begin operating an airline in Ghana.

But for all of Gyan’s achievements, it is his love for music that has endeared him to many football fans, especially when it comes to ‘jama’.

Gyan ventured into rap back in 2012, dropping a track called 'Africa Girls' featuring the likes of Castro, Stonebwoy and Kofi Kinaata. He later released songs like 'do the dance' and 'odo pa'.

Gyan has, however, announced that he is taking a break from his music career until his retirement from football.

Kevin-Prince Boateng

Boateng is a keen singer and dancer; and has said that his singing and dancing idol is Michael Jackson. As such, Boateng performed a dance routine involving Michael Jackson's trademarked Moonwalk for a packed-out San Siro of 88,000 spectators upon Milan celebrating their 18th Scudetto.

In August 2018, Boateng released a rap song under the alias PRIN$$ Boateng named King on the World Star Hip Hop channel. He released his second single, Bella Vita, in July 2019.

Memphis Depay

Depay is actually somewhat serious about his rap career, dropping new tracks on a consistent basis. 'No Love' remains the Dutchman's most popular song, hitting 18 million views on YouTube.

He began pursuing a hip-hop career in June 2017 when he released his Los Angeles-inspired freestyle, "LA Vibes".'

Six months later, Depay released his freestyle track "Kings & Queens". On 3 October 2018, he collaborated with musical artists Winne and Nana Fofie and producer Rass King for his Ghana-inspired single, "AKWAABA.

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie

Quincy is a cousin of English rapper Sway. Known in the music scene as 'Blow', the former Arsenal winger has already released his first EP called New Chapter.

Qunicy Owusu-Abeyie released his debut mixtape as a solo rapper. He had recorded tracks for years, and performed in disguise with Amsterdam rap group De Fellas, before releasing the mixtape in early 2020.

The footballer turn rapper admits it was a difficult transition for him after deciding to end his football career at just 33.

John Boye

John Boye ventured into mhadc in 2013. The Ghana international has an instant hit on the TV scenes in 2013, when he was featured on a track by his Black Stars colleague, Asamoah Gyan and Castro, titled Accelerator.

Emmanuel Boateng

Boateng's football career wi,ll forever be a 'what if' but the Ghanaian forward also tried to launch a music career back in 2017, releasing a track called 'Oluwa Dey'.

The single featured Famouz, a duo whose hit "Nufuo no" enjoyed massive radio airplay in Ghana.

Ghana Legend Asamoah Gyan Shows Great Coaching Skills in New Video

Sports Brief earlier reported that former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan seems to have started taking baby steps in coaching after he was spotted dishing out instructions to a young player.

The ex-Sunderland striker has not hidden his desire to enter into coaching after his career but could not let the opportunity slip while watching a talented footballer in a game in Accra.

In a video posted on social media, sighted by Sports Brief, Gyan is seen coaching the young footballer on how to convert chances.
