Black Stars and Spezia forward Emmanuel Gyasi has disclosed that he almost collapsed when he received a jersey from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Gyasi met the Portuguese captain when Spezia crossed swords with Juventus in the Italian Serie A last season.
After exchanging pleasantries in the first fixture, the Ghanaian winger made a nice impression on Ronaldo who decided to gift him his jersey in the return fixture.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Gyasi opened up on the emotional moment he first met Ronaldo, adding he was star-struck to the point that he almost fainted.
Gyasi said, quoted by FootballGhana:
“I still get chills. When I met him in Spezia-Juventus I found the courage to go and say hello and I said: 'Cristiano, you are an example for me and for everyone'. He replied: 'Keep working and cultivating your dreams'.
At the return match, in Turin, he came to look for me to give me his shirt. At that moment I almost fainted,” Emmanuel Gyasi said.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Gyasi is relishing a meet-up with Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has suggested he might retire should his dreams materialize.
Gyasi had previously met Ronaldo when Spezia crossed swords with Juventus in the Italian Serie A but the Italian-born Ghana international is relishing another of such moments with the Portuguese.
The 28-year-old has previously disclosed he idolizes the former Real Madrid icon and with Ghana pitted against Ronaldo's Portugal at the 2022 Mundial, he might just have a second opportunity to meet Cristiano.
