Elisha Owusu has become the latest Ghanaian player to win the Belgian Cup with KAA Gent.

It was the first time Gent have won the domestic cup tournament since their last triumph in 2010.

Elisha Owusu started the game from the bench and he was introduced in the 106th minute when he replaced Sven Kum.

He was shown a yellow card in the 114th minute from referee from Lawrence Visser after a dangerous play.

The game travelled to the extra-time after both sides failed to find the cutting edge in the regular time even though Gent were slightly on top.

His Ghanaian compatriots Majeed Ashimeru and Francis Amuzu played for Anderlecht.

This is the fourth time Gent have won the Belgian Cup in their history after previously lifting the coveted trophy in 1963/64, 1983/84 and 2009/10 seasons.
