Asamoah Gyan took a journey down memory lane on how one of his brothers got heartbroken after scoring against Hearts of Oak.

Gyan, Ghana's all-time top scorer with 51 goals, recounted how his formative years at Liberty Professionals brought mixed feelings at home.

In an interview with Joy FM, he narrated how his brother refused to talk to him for a week due to a goal he scored against Hearts in the Top 4 competition.

"I have two brothers. One is a huge Hearst of Oak fan. It doesn't mean I have to support Hearts of Oak." When quizzed on the local he supports.
"I remember [during] my Liberty days. Whenever Liberty is playing Hearts, he [my brother] used to insult and bully me at home."
"I think in the Top 4 we beat them [Hearts] by a goal to nil and I scored. When I came home he didn't talk to me for like a week. It's fun" Gyan ended

Before seeking greener pastures in Europe, Gyan affectionately called 'Baby Jet' played for Dansoman-based local club Liberty Professionals.

Despite his short stint with the club, Gyan became a huge hit in the local league following his knack for scoring goals against the country's two most glamorous clubs.

Presently, the 36-year-old forward is currently inactive following the expiration of his contract with Ghana Premier League club Legon Cities.

Asamoah Gyan had no hesitation in naming his stunner at Wembley as the greatest goal he has ever scored.

The former Sunderland striker scored a spectacular goal to deny the Three Lions of England a win in a friendly match against the Black Stars of Ghana in 2011.

It was Ghana’s first-ever game against England and the West African side proved their worth as they denied the British a win in an entertaining match.

Asamoah Gyan expresses desire to play for Asante Kotoko before retirement

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Asamoah Gyan has reaffirmed his desire to play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko before calling it a quit on his illustrious career.

Ghana's all-time leading scorer has been inactive since leaving Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities at the end of last season.

In an interview with Joy FM, the 36-year-old revealed he would love to play for the Porcupine Warriors before saying goodbye to the game.
