German-born Ghanaian forward Kwasi Okyere Wriedt was on the scoresheet for Holstein Kiel in their home victory over former Bundesliga outfit Hamburg on Sunday afternoon.
Wriedt's strike was the difference between Holstein and Hamburg in a keenly contested encounter staged at the Holstein-Stadion.
Having won just one in their last four games, Holstein Kiel knew they had to get their mojo back with victory Hamburg, who were coming off the back of a resounding 4-0 win over Aue.
Regardless of the newfound form of Hamburg, it was Kiel that started on the front foot and they were rewarded with the game's opener after 13 minutes.
Ex-Bayern Munich forward Okyere Wriedt was responsible for breaking the deadlock after he was set up by Dutch defender Marco Komenda.
After the goal, it was all Hamburg as they sought for an equalizer peppering the goal area of the home side on countless occasions but were repelled by goalkeeper Thomas Dahne or wayward shooting as the first stanza came to a close.
It was more of the same in the second half but despite the huff and puff on the part of Hamburg, it was Holstein Kiel that carried the victory.
How did Okyere Wriedt perform in the game?
The Black Stars forward scored the game's only goal in the 13th minute as he powered Holstein Kiel to winning ways.
It was his second goal in his last two games since the international break.
Wriedt lasted 66 minutes in the game before he was replaced by Austrian midfielder Benedikt Pichler.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that German-born Ghana international, Kwasi Okyere Wriedt has named legendary Brazilian attacker Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, affectionately called Ronaldinho as his football role model.
Ronaldinho performed bewitching trickery effortlessly which became the toast of youngsters and it comes as no surprise Okyere-Wriedt belongs to the category of youngsters who were captured by the magical skills of the ex-Barca talisman.
Wriedt, who currently plays for lower-tier side Holstein Kiel attacker revealed how he used to religiously study the Brazilian on YouTube.
