Interim Ghana coach Otto Addo has announced his squad to cross swords with West African neighbours Nigeria on Tuesday morning.

The 27-man Black Stars squad to face Super Eagles includes some new faces who have received their debut call-ups.

They include AS Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan, Club Brugge defender Denis Odoi, KAA Gent midfielder Elisha Owusu and Hearts of Oak left-back Dennis Korsah.

The debutants have played crucial roles for their respective clubs and are now set for international duty in Ghana colours.

Afena-Gyan rejected a call-up during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, but he has made a comeback for the two-legged tie against the Super Eagles.

Born in Belgium, Dennis Odoi is a utility player who can play across the various positions in defence but is usually deployed in the right-back role.

The 33-year-old has played for the various age-group teams of Belgium, including featuring once for the Belgium national team.

KAA Gent midfielder Elisha Owusu will be making his debut appearance for the Black Stars, having previously represented France at the junior national levels. He signed for Belgium club 2019 form from French giants Olympique Lyonnais, where he spent most of his youth development.

The only local-based player in the squad is Dennis Korsah. The Hearts of Oak's earned a call-up following his recent performance for the Phobians and an injury to regular defender Baba Rahman of Reading FC.

Ghana will host the first leg of the encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25, 2022, before travelling to Abuja for the reverse fixture on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Ghana Finally Announces Squad to Face Nigeria in World Cup Blockbuster

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Interim Black Stars coach Otto Addo belatedly announced his squad to cross swords with West African neighbours Nigeria.

Otto Addo announced his squad in a press conference after what was described as a 'special strategy' by the Ghana Football Association to keep the squad close to their chest before today.

Ghana will cross swords with Nigeria in the all-important World Cup playoffs on March 25 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the first leg before heading to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja four days later.
