Charles Taylor, a former Black Stars midfielder and pundit, says calls for Sulley Muntari to be invited to the national team for the game against Nigeria is not right.

According to Charles Taylor, his former Ghana teammate is no more a Black Stars material and should rather focus on regaining his fitness.

Muntari has been on the lips of many Ghanaians following his outstanding display in Hearts of Oak in their President Cup triumph over Kotoko.

"Sulley Muntari is not a Black Stars material for the Nigeria Clash. We need serious players! He should focus on Hearts of Oak so he gains fitness, he can be called when Ghana qualifies for the World Cup," Charles Taylor said on Angel TV.

Muntari's last game for Ghana in a Black Stars jersey was at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he was subsequently sacked from camp for misconduct. Sulley Muntari has been to three World Cups.

The former AC Milan and Inter star returned to Ghana few years ago before joining Hearts of Oak last month.

GHALCA Administrative Manager calls for Sulley Muntari's inclusion to Black Stars squad for Nigeria clash

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Administrative Manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Mr Oduro Nyarko says Sulley Muntari needs to be in the Black Stars team for the World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.

Ghana hosts the Super Eagles on March 25, 2022 in the first-leg in Cape Coast before traveling to Abuja for the second leg in four days time.

Ahead of the crucial encounter, Mr Oduro Nyarko, who has been impressed with Muntari's display in the domestic league is urging the technical team to invite the veteran midfielder.
