The Black Stars of Ghana suffered a humiliating friendly defeat to Algeria in a pre-AFCON test game at the Education City Stadium in Qatar on Wednesday.

A first half striker from Adam Ounas, an own goal from Jonathan Mensah and Islam Sliman's fine finish ensured the African champions trounced Ghana 3-0.

Algeria dominated right at the blow of the whistle, controlling and dominating possession and halfway through the first half, Adam Ounas dummied defender Gideon Mensah before firing past goalkeeper Manaf Nurudeen.

The goal awoken the Black Stars but it was a little too late to stage a first half fightback.

However, the Algerians were rampant after the break, forcing the Black Stars to commit errors.

And with just ten minutes remaining the African champions doubled their lead, after Jonathan Mensah turned the ball into his own net.

Just two minutes later Islam Slimani made it 3-0 with a cool finish.

The Black Stars will train for few days in Qatar before leaving for Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins on Sunday, January 9, 2022.

The team will face Morocco in their first game on the tournament on Monday, January 10, 2022.

Ghana's technical bench improved by new additions

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, Mike Stankovic, a Serbian trainer and Awal Kamin Salifu, a performance analyst, have been included to the technical team of the Black Stars ahead of AFCON 2021.

Stankovic will deputize Milovan Rajevac following the absence of Otto Addo for the tournament in Cameroon while Kamin Salifu joins Edward Acheampong as the team's performance analysts.

The Ghana Football Association confirmed the arrival of the duo as the team prepares for the Nations Cup this month.
