Frank Lampard is reportedly set to return to Stamford Bridge with three former Chelsea coaches, following his reappointment as Blues boss.

According to Metro UK, Lampard will be in charge of Chelsea for the rest of the season as the club hunts for a permanent manager.

Who is joining Lampard's staff?

Apparently, Lampard is set to be joined by familiar faces on his return to Stamford Bridge, with three former Chelsea coaches set to join his backroom staff.

The Athletic reports that the Blues' interim boss will be joined by a club legend in the shape of Ashley Cole.

The pair of Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, who were part of Lampard's coaching staff at Everton, have also returned to the west London club.

Lampard's immediate assignment will be pushing to help the 2021 Champions League winners secure a higher finish in the Premier League standings.

The London giants are currently in 11th place with 39 points, with a European football spot at risk.

Chelsea fans against Lampard's return

Sports Brief also reported on Chelsea fans reacting to Lampard's return, with many being hostile to this due to how his previous managerial stint at the club ended.

The Blues legend was first spotted in the director's box with co-owner, Behdad Eghbali, which led to speculation about his return before the team made things official.

Lampard has since taken over the reins at Stamford Bridge as caretaker manager, to allow the club to conduct an intensive search for Graham Potter's successor.
