Watch: Ronaldo took the worst free kick of his career for Al-Nassr vs Al-Ittihad

N'Golo Kante's rise to stardom remains one of the most beautiful stories in football. From Ligue 2 in France to Leicester City's title-winning team to the World Cup triumph and Champions League League win with Chelsea, all in the span of a few years sounds like a script straight from a telenovela.
Only that it did happen.
The midfielder is undoubtedly one of the best box-to-box midfielders of his generation. The world has been deprived of an opportunity to see him this season as he battles a niggling hamstring injury.

FootballLike most stories, his journey to the top wasn't easy. His timid nature has endeared him to people right now, Chelsea fans or not. In 2017, the 31-year-old was allegedly held at gunpoint, as reported by L'Euipe.

Kante is said to have just visited the Hauts-de-Seine restaurant in the suburbs of Rueil-Malmaison in Paris, when he was beckoned into a dark car and a gun held over his knee. The perpetrators then threatened to kill his agent Abdelkarim Douis if he did not dump him.
An investigation by Mediaport via Sportskeeda, claimed to have had recordings where Rachid Saadna, one of Kante's advisors and his brother Houari confronted Kante to drop Douis.
Kante denied the 2017 incident. The 31-year-old is expected to be available soon for Graham Potter. In his absence, Chelsea have dropped to 10th on the log but have qualified for the last 8 of the Champions League.

FootballSports Brief had earlier reported that Kanté says his journey from obscurity to fame has taught him he has much to be grateful for while he remains humble.
The Chelsea midfielder reveals he failed many times and was rejected by different training centres as he tried to get himself a club during his days as an amateur.
However, after several setbacks, he finally succeeded, which is a major reason for his sheer humility.
