In two transfer windows under the ownership of American billionaire, Todd Boehly, Chelsea have spent over £600-million on transfers, including over £300-mil in the recently concluded January transfer window.

The Blues brought in nine players last month, the majority of whom have gone straight into the starting eleven to strengthen the team, with Mykhailo Mudryk, Enzo Fernandez and João Felix chief among them.

The team still looks deficient in key areas, with summer spending still planned as well as a massive clear-out of some old stars to help balance the books.

Reece James dislikes January transfers

One of the Chelsea stars who certainly will lead the new generation of players at the club is Reece James, having extended his contract to 2028, as reported by the Independent.

However, he admits to not liking the January transfer window. He told Sky Sports, as quoted by Football Daily:

''The transfer window is one of my biggest hates. The January period is always so busy with many games, and then you have transfer noise as well. It's all a bit much in one month, so I don't really listen too much,'' he said.

James excited by new players

Despite not being a fan of the transfer periods, he has no issues with the recent additions to the team and is enjoying working with them already despite just a few games together.

''I quite enjoy playing with new players. You don't really know what to expect from them. I know they all come in from different places all over the world and different teams,'' he said.

''They are all here to help at the end of the day. The quicker they are comfortable and settled, the quicker they can maximise their help,'' he added.

James meets Felix in London

Long before he signed for Chelsea on loan, Felix and James met in London while the former was on vacation, as earlier reported by Sports Brief.

The Portuguese is on a six-month loan with no buy option from Atletico Madrid and started alongside James for the first time in the 1-1 draw against Fulham.

However, the partnership may not last if Chelsea cannot find an agreement with the Spanish club for a full purchase at the end of the season.
