According to the Daily Mail, Lukaku's return to the San Siro is imminent, with the Belgium international set for a medical at Inter on Wednesday, June 29.
The publication reports that jubilant Inter fans ensured Lukaku gets the most special reception on his return as they accorded him a heroic welcome.
Footage of the Lukaku arriving in Italy showed the striker being greeted by an ecstatic crowd which chanted his name.
The 29-year-old responded by raising his thumb up as the fans filmed him before he walked away as he slapped hands with a number of the crowd.
