Todd Boehly formally approaches Man City over Raheem Sterling deal

Goal now reports that Boehly has formally approached Manchester City with a view to finalising the marquee signing of Sterling.

It is believed the American billionaire made contact with the Premier League champions on Monday, June 27, seeking to wrap up a deal over the coming week.

The same has been communicated to Sterling who has reportedly already held positive discussions with Blues boss Thomas Tuchel over the role he will play at Stamford Bridge.

While the Englishman is thought to be willing to depart Etihad, it remains to be seen if City would be willing to let him go having already lost Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal.

Ronaldo linked with Stamford Bridge move

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Chelsea are reportedly pushing for the signing of Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Blues new owner Todd Boehly is said to have met Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, to discuss the striker's situation at Old Trafford.

A possible switch for Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge is also said to have been discussed in the meeting.

The Blues are hunting for a prolific striker this summer following Romelu Lukaku's return to Inter Milan.
