FootballChelsea Star Speaks on Leaving Stamford Bridge for Barcelona Move

- Despite his deal with the Blues expiring in 2023, the 31-year-old has not hidden his desire to go back to Spain

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has broken his silence on his future with the Blues amid Barcelona links.
The Spaniard has one year left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge but is said to be keen for a move away for a new challenge.
Alonso had fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel, only for him to get a new lease of life after Ben Chilwell suffered a season-ending injury.
According to Metro UK, the 31-year-old is likely to relegated to bench next season ahead of Chilwell's return to action.
This has left Alonso with no choice but to seek a move away, with a return to Spain on the cards.
Marcos Alonso admits he would like to return to Spain
Speaking to Onda Cero, Alonso insisted that "there is a desire" to play in Spain before he winds up his career, but was coy on the club he would join.
"I have already said that I would like to return to Spain, but in the end it does not depend entirely on me," he said.
"It’s clear that the desire to one day play in Spain is there," he added.
Alonso has been an integral squad member since he joined Chelsea back in2016 and has managed to make more than 200 appearances for the West Londoners.
