Marcos Alonso might just have played his last game for Chelsea. The full-back was involved in a heated exchange with Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel over the weekend.
Alonso was guilty of giving away possession in the first half of their Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. This outraged his manager on the touchline who exchanged a few words with the Spanish defender.
Alonso was hooked off at halftime with Saul Niguez taking his place. Tuchel confirmed in the post-match conference that Alonso wasn’t injured.

FootballMarcos was not injured, it was just a decision we made.
Now, Chelsea News reports that Chelsea staff writer Nathan Gissing fears that Alonso’s time at Chelsea is up. The defender has been keen on a move away and his recent spat with his manager might give him the extra incentive to quit Chelsea.
Barcelona is understood to be the most preferred option for Alonso. The former Fiorentina player is intrigued by the prospect of playing in his home country and for Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez.
This is not the first time that Alonso has fallen out with a manager. Former head coach Frank Lampard froze him out of the team after a lackluster first-half performance against West Bromwich Albion.
The appointment of Tuchel is what gave him a second chance at Chelsea. He has enjoyed a steady run of games this campaign with the long-term injury of first-choice fullback Ben Chilwell playing a huge part.
