Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is one man who will stop at nothing in spending on a luxurious lifestyle and reports emerge that he once coughed up £40,000 to have Sushi delivered to him from London.

It was gathered that the stunning moment occurred while the Chelsea owner began his reign at the Stamford Bridge back in the 2000s as he was becoming settled with the finest eateries in London.

Abramovich was said to be a lover of the now-closed Ubon restaurant which was situated at Canary Wharf as traditional Japanese cuisines were served.

The oligarch loved the dishes and lavish cash on the menus while residing in Baku, and he decided to have it delivered to his door internationally all the way from London.

Abramovich's desire to tuck in was so strong that he asked one of his aides to put in an order for him thought to be worth around £1,200 before having the dishes flown out to him via private jet, according to the Sunday Times.

Once it was cooked, the food was transferred by a chauffer-driven limousine to Luton airport and placed onto the plane - travelling more than 2500 miles across Europe before eventually feeding Abramovich and his close friends.
