Brazilian-born Italian produced one of his best performances in the Chelsea jersey when the London outfit clawed from a goal down to beat Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Goals from Christian Pulisic and skipper Cesar Azpilicueta were enough to nullify Burak Yilmaz's first-half strike.

Chelsea entered into the game with a two-goal advantage from the first leg and knew any result aside from a three-goal loss will ensure they reach the last eight of the Champions League.

Despite changes made by Lille gaffer Jocelyn Gourvennec, it was Chelsea that found the next goal through Azpilicueta to end the game as a contest and most importantly put the Blues in the quarterfinal stage.

In spite of his inability to get on the scoresheet and play full throttle, Chelsea fans singled out Jorginho for praise.

Chelsea ease past French champions Lille to book quarterfinal spot

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea is through to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.

The Blues took a step closer to defending their crown as they beat Lille 2-1 in France and 4-1 on aggregate.

With a stadium full of passionate and proud supporters behind them, Lille took the fight to Chelsea from the get-go. The French side looked more comfortable on the ball and didn’t allow the Blues to settle.
