Thomas Tuchel has opened the lid on what he discussed with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich during the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Tuchel's charges emerged victors after a tense 120-minute encounter with South American champions, Palmeiras.

German playmaker Kai Havertz scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot with just three minutes left on the clock as the European champions cruised to a 2-1 win.

Romelu Lukaku had earlier scored the opener for the Blues but had it cancelled out Raphael Veiga to force the clash into extra-time.

Skipper Cesar Azpilicueta won a penalty for Chelsea in the 117th minute when his shot towards goal struck the arm of defender Luan Garcia which Havertz stepped up to convert.

Abramovich, who is the owner of the west London club was in attendance during the encounter as he watched his side add another trophy to their cabinet.

The Russian billionaire made his way onto the pitch after the final whistle and joined in the celebrations with players and the coaching unit.

He was later seen making a beeline for Tuchel, with the two having a short conversation.

What Tuchel told Abramovich

Asked what he told Abramovich, Tuchel revealed he use the opportunity to dedicate the trophy to the Chelsea owner due to his "input and passion."

"It is good for him, We met shortly on the pitch after the final and I said ‘congrats’ and he said ‘congrats’ to me," Tuchel said as quoted by Metro UK.

"I said, ‘It is for you and it is your club. Your input and passion that made it possible.’ The trophy is for him," he added.

The German playmaker scored the decisive penalty in extra time of the tough clash to steer the Blues to glory.
