Football“Are There Rules for Different Fools?”: Eric Tinkler Questions Why Kaizer Chiefs’ Matter Is Not Yet Resolved
- Eric Tinkler is frustrated that the matter between the Premier Soccer League and Kaizer Chiefs is not resolved
- Cape Town City are waiting for the outcome of the matter to find out if they will receive three points or not
- Eric Tinkler questioned why the league's rules applied for some teams but did not apply to Kaizer Chiefs
Cape Town City coach, Eric Tinkler, has spoken about the current legal battle between Kaizer Chiefs and the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Tinkler questioned why certain rules applied for certain teams, as his Cape Town City side are indirectly affected by the outcome of the ruling.
The arbitration ruling in Kaizer Chiefs’ favour meant that the PSL were ordered to reschedule the Amakhosi’s fixtures against Cape Town City and Golden Arrows. The PSL have now appealed that ruling, leaving Eric Tinkler’s side no clearer on whether they will receive the three points or have another fixture to play.
Tinkler though, questioned why Chiefs were allowed to take the matter to SAFA when the PSL were dealing with it. As reported by MTNFC, Tinkler expressed frustration that the matter was still not resolved and was adamant that the league’s rules should apply to all teams.
“Do we or don't we get the points against Chiefs? That's still all up in the air, which I think is absolutely ridiculous that it hasn't been resolved yet. Remember the rules. Or are their rules for different fools?
Those three points could be especially crucial this season as the race for the second spot in the DStv Premiership heats up.
Eric Tinkler’s side are currently level on points with Chiefs, iDiski Times confirmed. They next play Royal AM, the team currently occupying the second place, four points ahead of Cape Town City, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Kaizer Chiefs hit with two new charges by Disciplinary Committee, could face points deduction if found guilty
Kaizer Chiefs' legal troubles are far from over as the Soweto-based club has been slapped with two new charges, Sports Brief earlier reported.
The Amakhosi were charged by the Premier Soccer League’s Disciplinary Committee (DC) for naming two ineligible players in their squad for a fixture against Sekhukhune United during a game last year.
If found guilty by the DC, Chiefs could face a points deduction, Goal.com reported. PSL Prosecutor Zola Majavu confirmed that the side would face charges today. Ironically, the new charges stem from the club’s ongoing dispute with the PSL over the fixtures they could not play last year.
