Sadio Mane has shared his excitement after finally making his Bayern Munich comeback following a four-month injury layoff.

The Senegalese forward cameoed as the Bavarians brushed aside title rivals, Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on February 26.

Mane, who replaced Kingsley Coman in the 65th minute, admitted to missing the game and said he was happy to be back.

"It's fantastic; training has been going really well. I'm delighted to be back with the team," Mane told the Bayern website, as quoted by Bundesliga.com.

"Football's my life; I've missed it. I'm looking forward to the fans, the atmosphere, scoring goals and at the end, winning!"

The Africa Player of the Year missed the 2022 FIFA World Cup after picking up an injury during a game against Werder Bremen in November 2022.

Meanwhile, a first-half masterclass from the Bavarians ensured they strolled to a 3-0 victory at the Allianz Arena.

Eric Choupo-Moting, Coman and Jamal Musiala - who turned 20 on Sunday- were the scorers for the German champions.

Sadio Mane makes injury comeback

Sports Brief also reported on Senegal forward, Mane returning to action for Bayern Munich against Union Berlin in his first match since a leg injury ruled him out of the 2022 World Cup.

The Senegalese star came off the bench in the second half, replacing goalscorer, Coman with his side 3-0 up. The match was the former Liverpool player's first in 110 days.

Mane begins training for return

Sports Brief also reported on Bayern getting a big boost ahead of their Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Bundesliga champions will host PSG in the return leg of their last 16 fixture on March 8 and will have Mane back for the big game.

It was reported the Senegalese star had returned to team training, after training alone as he finalised rehabilitation from injury.
