The Bundesliga side are in desperate need of a first-choice keeper for the rest of the season following Manuel Neuer’s injury.
Neuer broke his leg during a skiing accident while on holiday and was ruled out for the rest of the season, EuroSport reported.
Bayern currently only have Sven Ulreich and Johannes Schenk on the books as backups. As noted by Transfermarkt, Ulreich has only made three appearances this season. Schenk is only 20 years old and has yet to play a competitive game for the first team.

With their next fixture on January 20, Bayern’s hunt for a new keeper has now seen them turn their attention to Borussia Mönchengladbach’s shot-stopper, Yann Sommer.
Get German Football News reported that talks are progressing well between Mönchengladbach and Munich, but there is a concern over the club’s evaluation of the player.
Gladbach are asking for €5 million more than what Bayern are currently offering for Sommer. Gladbach doesn’t have a suitable backup keeper either and are trying to bring in a replacement before they agree to sell their star man.

Munich is no stranger to Sommer’s talent. Earlier this season Sommer produced a legendary display when he made a record 19 saves against the Bundesliga champions. Munich threw everything they had at Gladbach, but Sommer stood tall, conceding just one goal as the game ended 1-1, SportBible reported.
