Sadio Mane has snubbed all the African teams going to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, naming Argentina as the strong favourites to win the global championship this year.

Football lovers in every part of the world are currently preparing for the World Cup, which will start in November and sees France in a bid to retain the crown.

In the Champions League on Wednesday night, October 26, Mane was impressive while playing for Bayern Munich during their emphatic 3-0 win over Barcelona.

After the encounter at Camp Nou, Mane was asked to name his favourite team to win the World Cup, and the Senegalese picked Argentina.

The former Liverpool star also feels Brazil, Germany, France and England are strong contenders to win the title, according to the report on GOAL.

Mane's statement World Cup statement:

"I watched Messi play yesterday. He is incredible!" Mane stated. "Argentina is one of the teams that can win just like Brazil, Germany, France or England."

African teams going to Qatar

Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal are the five African teams that will be flying the continent's flag in Qatar.

In history, no African team has ever won the World Cup title before. Ghana, Cameroon and Senegal have made the quarter-finals, but no team has progressed further.
