Philipp Lahm has raised the alarm bell about Sadio Mané's role at Bayern Munich, following the latter's recent dip in form.

Mané, who traded Liverpool for the Bundesliga giants this summer, began his Bayern career on a blistering note - scoring in his opening four games.

However, the 30-year-old Senegal international has experienced a nosedive in form - failing to find the back of the net for the Bavarians in their last six matches.

The ex-Liverpool forward, who operated on the left hand side during his time with the Premier League outfit, has mostly been deployed as a centre-forward by Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann.

Aside from the centre-forward position, Mané has been utilised once on the left flank during Bayern's Champions League triumph against Barcelona.

Bayern legend Lahm has questioned these positional changes and says he doesn’t know why they are happening.

"Mane’s qualities are out of question," Lahm told Bild TV, as quoted by Liverpool Echo. "But it’s crucial that roles must be clearly assigned.

"I don’t see that at the moment. I currently don’t understand how the roles are defined. Everyone has to know what they have to do on the pitch."
