Dutch defender, Matthijs de Ligt will end his three-year association with Juventus after Bayern Much reached an agreement with the Serie A giants to sign the 22-year-old.

The Bundesliga champions are looking to strengthen their defense ahead of the 2022/23 season after the defender, Nicklas Sule, joined arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Bayern Munich is now set to pay Juventus €80m for Matthijs de Ligt with €70m guaranteed and an extra €10m in add-ons before the move is finalized 90MIN reports.

The Bundesliga champions had already agreed to a five-year deal with De Ligt, so all that remains is a medical and an official confirmation from Bayern Munich.

The 22-year-old defender had been impressed with the project proposed to his representatives by Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic and head coach Julian Nagelsmann before agreeing to seal the deal.
