Robert Lewandowski is facing backlash from some supporters after the striker revealed he wants to quit Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich this summer.

The striker has been receiving death threats online since he opened up about his desire to link up with Barcelona ahead of the 2022/23 season.

According to Bulinews, Lewandowski has now taken the action of leaving his wife and kids back home as he returned to Germany for preseason training with Bayern Munich.

The 33-year-old is eagerly anticipating his move to Barcelona to be finalized in the coming weeks as the La Liga giants are said to be planning a final offer to Bayern Munich for the forward.

Lewandowski has had eight successful years with the German Bundesliga champions as he has won 8 league titles with the Bavarians and also one UEFA Champions League title.

Bayern Munich set deadline for ending the Lewandowski transfer

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich has set a deadline of Saturday, July 16 to settle the transfer saga involving Robert Lewandowski as the forward pushes for a move to Barcelona Marca reports.

The Bundesliga champions want to resolve Lewandowski's future this week to avoid any fan backlash before the new season begins.

Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days between Bayern Munich and Barcelona as the Bavarians have set his price tag at 50 million euros.
