Lionel Messi’s future has become a topic of interest for the football community and Catalonia president Pere Aragones has added his voice to the ongoing debate.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner looks set to become a free agent at the end of the season when his two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires.
According to Football Espana, Pere Aragones, has given his approval for Messi to return to Barcelona where he spent 17 seasons before joining PSG in 2021.

Barcelona has since registered their interest in re-signing the Argentine superstar, but the Catalan club will have to contend with top Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal who have offered Messi the biggest contract in football.
Barcelona give Messi three conditions
Meanwhile, if Lionel Messi wants to return to the club he left two seasons ago, Barcelona has set three non-negotiable conditions, Daily Post reports.
First and foremost, Barcelona has warned Messi that if he is to return to Camp Nou, he must accept a reduced role in the squad and will also have to accept a lower weekly salary due to the Catalan giants' financial difficulties.
Third, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, who is said to have a strained relationship with club president Joan Laporta, will not seek the captaincy if he returns to his childhood club.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Lionel Messi is still very much loved by Barcelona supporters and this was made evident in the King’s League final organized by former Spain defender Gerard Pique.
