Lionel Messi is still very much loved by Barcelona supporters and this was made evident in the King’s League final organized by former Spain defender Gerard Pique.

Over 92,000 fans trooped into Camp Nou to witness the final of the seven aside competition, and before kickoff actually partook in chanting Messi's name.

A video was captured showing that particular moment inside the stadium where fans chanted the Barca legends name on Sunday.

Barcelona fans are still hoping to reunite with Messi, two years after the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner left the club to sign for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The 35-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to Camp Nou with Barcelona president Joan Laporta also revealing the Catalan club will try to get Messi to return to the club when his contract with PSG expires at the end of the season.

Camp Nou sold out for Kings League

Meanwhile, over 92,000 fans were present at Camp Nou for the Kings League organized by former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and watched "El Barrio" become the first winning team of the competition, Marca reports.

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar was reportedly present at the Camp Nou with fellow Brazilian icons Ronaldo and Ronaldinho for the seven-a-side soccer competition.

Other notable names also in attendance of the football competition were former Manchester City forward Sergio "Kun" Aguero, David Villa and Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

Barcelona president drops hint on Messi’s return

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona are not ruling out the possibility of re-signing Lionel Messi next season if the Argentine superstar decides not to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi has put Barcelona on alert as the 35-year-old is yet to agree on a contract extension with PSG with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has now revealed that the doors are always open for Messi’s return to Camp Nou.
