Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has highlighted the difference between playing in the German Bundesliga and the Spanish La Liga.

The 33-year-old, who played for both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, spent 12 seasons in the German topflight winning the league title on 10 occasions.

Lewandowski joined Barcelona this summer and has already scored 8 goals in 6 appearances in La Liga and has revealed the Spanish topflight is less physical than the Bundesliga, SB Nation reports.

“The Bundesliga was definitely more physical. In Spain, many more teams try and want to play football. This is how I see it now, but I do not rule out that the perception will change.”

Lewandowski has already scored 8 goals in just his first 6 appearances for Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga.

Former Frankfurt defender Carlos Zambrano hits back at Robert Lewandowski

Meanwhile, Carlos Zambrano has refuted Robert Lewandowski’s claim that he tried to break the legs of the current Barcelona striker while he was still in the Bundesliga.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt defender Carlos Zambrano took to social media to address Lewandowski’s recent allegations revealing he didn’t tackle him out of spite, Football365 reports.

Zambrano revealed he does not hold a grudge against his former rival but rather extolled Lewandowski’s professionalism as a top footballer.

Lewandowski nominated for La Liga player of the month

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Robert Lewandowski has been nominated for the August La Liga player of the month award after his brilliant start to the season for La Liga giants Barcelona.

The Poland forward is joined in the 7-man shortlist alongside Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, Atletico Bilbao’s Nico Williams, and Samu Castillejo of Valencia.

Dani Parejo of Villareal, Real Betis’ Luis Felipe and Brias Mendes completes the list of players nominated for the monthly best player award in the Spanish topflight.
